The Arcade Helper App
Problem: There is an enormous selection of games and disorganization in friend groups going to arcades.
Solution: Design an assistant app that helps people decide which games they would like to play, save them, and share with friends.
Research
Through interviewing participants, I learned that the main three problems faced when going to an arcade were:
• Groups often have scattered ideas when going out to the arcade.
• There is typically an overwhelming number of choices for what to play when going to an arcade.
• Some people may have a hard time hearing a friend describe a game in the loud environment of an arcade.
Design
Paper Wireframes
I wanted to have a grid-like pattern that would let users get a brief glimpse of each game to find what interested them.
Digital Wireframes
I was trying to make the app as user-friendly and easy to navigate as I could at the time.
Low-fidelity Prototype
At the time, users could navigate to the account page and back.
High-fidelity Prototype
Navigation through all the pages was added.
Mockups
The first design allowed for customization of the grid format as well as the categories listed on the homepage.

What I learned:
When I was designing the app, although I may have thought certain design choices were intuitive, it turned out that not everyone had the same thought process. Through usability studies, I learned what worked well for the majority of users.
Future Steps:
• Conduct user research to add new features.
• Conduct another usability study to solidify existing features.
