Kansas City Vet App

Problem: Customers needed a more convenient way to set up appointments for their pets.

Solution: Create an online appointment scheduler as well as information on the clinics services.

Research

Through interviewing participants, I learned that the main three problems faced when setting up an appointment at the vet were:

• Overcomplication with too many items being on screen.

• Being at an inconvenient place to call like at work.

.• Some users experienced exhaustion having to re-input information every time they book an appointment.

Design

Sitemap

I wanted to design a site with all the basic information a user would need to book a veterinary visit.

Paper Wireframes

When designing my wireframes, I was focused on keeping the website simplistic and easy to use.

Paper Wireframe Size Variation

When translating the desktop wireframe to mobile size, I was wanting to keep the easy-to-follow nature of the original.

Digital Wireframes

Basic business information was planned for the homepage. User feedback suggested adding images to draw attention to certain areas.

What I learned:

Through the usability study, I learned what users expect from a website and what they do not. I also that a general rule of thumb is consistency is key across webpages.

Future Steps:

• Add functionality such as different types of appointments to widen the scope of potential users.

• Implement profile functionality.
